Profhilo is one of the most requested skin treatments of recent years and one of the most misunderstood, because it is so often described as a filler. It is not. It does not add volume or change the shape of your face; it improves the skin that is already there. How it works
Profhilo is made with patented NAHYCO® technology, combining two forms of hyaluronic acid in one smooth gel without chemical cross-linking agents. The high molecular weight HA sits closer to the surface, drawing in water for an immediate hydrating, plumping, soft-lift effect. The low molecular weight HA travels deeper, stimulating the skin’s own fibroblasts to produce fresh collagen and elastin — gradually remodelling the skin’s structure from within. That second effect is why it is called bioremodelling rather than simply hydration.
The BAP technique
Profhilo is injected using the Bio Aesthetic Points technique — five precise points on each side of the face, chosen so the gel spreads evenly through the skin while avoiding important structures. Ten injections in total, which means less discomfort and less trauma than treatments needing dozens of punctures.
Where it can be used
The face is most common, but Profhilo comes into its own on the neck and décolleté — thin, delicate skin that shows ageing early and tolerates heavier treatments poorly. Profhilo Body treats areas such as the inner upper arms, where skin loses firmness and texture with time.

What to expect
A course of two treatments four weeks apart is required for the full effect; at ELM the fee shown covers the complete course. Each session takes around half an hour. Small raised bumps at the injection points are normal and settle within a few hours. Results develop gradually — deeper, longer-lasting hydration, firmer and more elastic skin, and a smoother, brighter, rested appearance — and are typically maintained with a single top-up session around six months later.
Honest limitations
Profhilo does not treat volume loss, wrinkles caused by movement, or significant laxity — and it is not a substitute for filler, anti-wrinkle treatment or tightening where those are what is actually needed. It often works best alongside them as part of a longer-term plan for skin health. Results vary from person to person.

Is Profhilo a filler?
No. Filler adds volume and shape; Profhilo improves the quality of the skin itself. It is a different category of treatment with a different purpose.
How is it different from other skin boosters?
Standard skin boosters hydrate. Profhilo hydrates and also stimulates collagen and elastin production through its low molecular weight HA — the bioremodelling effect. It is also delivered in just ten injection points rather than many.
Why two treatments?
The second session, four weeks after the first, consolidates the collagen-stimulating effect. A single session gives hydration; the course gives remodelling.
When will I see results?
Hydration is noticeable within days of the first session. The firming, remodelling effect builds over four to eight weeks and is best judged a month after the second session.
Does it hurt?
Ten quick injections; most people describe brief stings. Numbing cream is not usually needed but can be used.
How long does it last?
Typically around six months, with a single maintenance session recommended thereafter.
