Think of aftercare as the second half of your treatment. How you look after your skin in the hours and days that follow has a real influence on how comfortably you recover and how beautifully your results settle. The good news: most of it is simple.

The first 24 hours

Keep the treated area clean and avoid touching, rubbing or massaging it unless you’ve been told otherwise. For injectable treatments, it’s usually best to leave makeup off the area for the rest of the day and to stay upright for a few hours. Be gentle — your skin has just had something done, and it appreciates calm.

The first few days

For a day or two it’s wise to avoid anything that significantly raises your body temperature or blood flow: strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms, very hot baths and alcohol. Mild redness, tenderness, small bumps or a little bruising can be completely normal after some treatments and typically settle on their own.

Small things that help

  • Stay well hydrated and try to get good sleep — your skin repairs while you rest.
  • Keep your skincare gentle for a few days; pause strong actives unless advised.
  • Protect the area from strong sun, and wear SPF.
  • Many people find arnica helpful for bruising, but check with us first.

Results take a little patience

Some treatments look their best immediately; others reveal themselves gradually over days or weeks as the skin responds. Try not to judge the final result too early — and if a follow-up has been recommended, do keep it, as it’s part of getting the outcome right.

When to get in touch

If anything doesn’t feel right, or you’re simply unsure, please contact us. We would always far rather hear from you and reassure you (or see you) than have you worry at home. You’ll be given personalised aftercare instructions for your specific treatment — those always take priority over general advice like this.
